Why do people still like microsoft windows when linux is better?

   I don’t think it has to do with like, more like we don’t have a choice! Windows is a horried OS but we are stuck with it until Linux can come out with something that is a simple to use as windows. As it is now most of us wouldn’t know how to configure and operate it. Most of the programs we like aren’t availible in Linux yet. But, there are alot of people buying an extra hard drive and putting linux on that to learn with.

   Linux is the better OS by far but windows is what we are stuck with right now.

   1. That is an opinion.
   2. Windows already comes in computers, and people don’t want to redo their operating system when they have one that works, especially when they are not "computer geeks."

   It’s not Linux I don’t like, it’s Linux all the Linux users I’ve met.

   Linux take a little bit of brains, Microsoft comes with every computer and is dummy user friendly

   4. Windows have better after sale services.

   I find Windows the best cause almost all of the programs are designed for Windows, while there are few softwares for Linux. On the other hand, Windows is much easier to use than Linux. I don’t really see why someone would like Linux, but each one has his own opinion don’t he?

   Windows comes pre-loaded on a computer… and has certain copyrights that deny linux from using certan file formats… or is there another reason that my linux machine downstairs recognizes MP3′s but won’t play them? However, linux CAN run windows programs… so, honestly, it’s because people are too lazy to get rid of windows…

   Windows is more user friendly.

   However, xandros and linspire and lycros are easy linux distros.
   Windows does come with computers, but some people have seen computers with linspire linux.
