Linux reviews applications open source from SUSE Mandrake Mandriva Centos Redhat Debian and more
Device drivers are difficult to write, those available open source are scrappy. Morever there is a need to support greater graphics qualities on Linux machines. Chip providers such as nVidia will never reveal there proprietary drivers, and their point of contention that only they can write the best software for their hardware may also be true. Other graphic card making companies have pretty much the same policy… I guess this debate is going to stay unless a perfect driver is made OPEN SOURCE
because companies usually need more than software, they need support, somebody to call or sue if something goes really wrong.
or sometimes just for the simple fact some managers don’t believe that you can get something good for free, it is just the way they do bussiness, nothing wrong with that.
