Why do Christians think they are morally superior to atheists?
Do you know how many epileptics were tortured because they were possessed? How many teenage witches were stoned to death ’cause they took mushrooms, Jimsonweed, belladonna, or mandrake root? How many people died during the Crusades? How may died during the Christianity motivated Holocaust? That the apostle Paul defended slavery and criticized those who stood against it? The misogyny of the Bible?
Studies even show that atheist on average are morally superior to Christians.
Evidence:
US: god fearing
UK: evolution accepting
France: evolution accepting
Japan: evolution accepting
————————————–…
The percentage of crimes in god fearing nations are higher than the percentage of crimes in nations with a high percentage of evolution accepting people. Japan: 15.2, USA: 21.1
————————————–…
There are nearly twice as high rates of teen pregnancy in god fearing America than in evolution accepting Britain, four times higher than France, and seven times higher than Japan.
————————————–…
Divorce rates
US: 54.8
UK: 42.6
France:48.3
Japan: 1.9
This evidence was actually given by christians who were hoping to prove that godless atheists get divorced far more often.

"In general, higher rates of belief in and worship of a creator correlate with higher rates of homicide, juvenile and early adult morality, STD infection rates, teen pregnancy and abortion in the prosperous democracies." (Journal of Religion and Society reported in The Times, Sep 27 2005)
————————————–…
Psalms 14:1 The fool says in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, their deeds are vile; there is no one who does good.

I never understood that either because they aren’t. Whenever someone who doesn’t think like them says something that disagrees with them they start ranting and raving about hell and how you’re going there if you don’t accept Jesus like they have. Morality based on understanding is always better than morality based on a command. Most Christians don’t follow everything Jesus told them to do because Jesus was crazy. Many Christians are very scary people!
Christianity is THE MOST violent religion in history!
we didnt say that but you did….we are trying…HAVE YOU REPENTED??
accept allah into your life for he is the light and the way
‘christians’ believe a lot of really stupid things. That says a lot about ‘christians’.
I think you think they think that.
Only atheists believe that. A good Christian does not believe him or herself to be morally superior to anyone. Humility is the key word in Christianity.
Why do Atheist think the same way? They only true difference is we got Christ in us and you don’t so today is the day of salvation. Jesus already paid the price for us now all we have to do is accept the free gift of salvation.
Religion doesn’t make you a better person. Christianity contradicts everything the Torah and the OT stood for.
They are under the false, silly assumption that "God" created morals; therefore not believing must mean a person is amoral.
The stats you posted aren’t surprising since those of low education and income backgrounds are more likely to have religious beliefs.
It is just another of their delusions.
Given the anti-Catholic bigotry, selective memory, the lies about Freemasonry, homosexuality, evolution, the age of the Earth and much else I see here, the moral standards I see from Christians leave something to be desired.
Atheists tell me that the U.S. is not a Christian nation, but a secular one.
Therefore, taking them at their word, the only thing your "stats" prove is that some secular nations have higher crime and divorce rates than others.
Tell me something I don’t know.
Although I’m atheist, and I agree with you 100%, I just can’t stop laughing at "misogyny of the Bible".
I’m laughing my brains out at the moment.Did you mean "misogyny in the Bible"?
I guess they think that because of their belief. They believe they will be saved by an almighty being they call God. They think that only those not touched by their almighty creator can commit such hideous crimes.
I was baptized, I was religious, then I realized my brain was being washed by hegemonic companies like Catholic Church. I did repent my sins, not to an almighty savior, but to myself, for judging others while being blinded myself. I can not undo words I say, but that’s why I can always speak more and let my further words be words of wisdom and peace, instead of words of hatred.
I do not resent believers, I pity them, they allow ambitions of foul minds dictate their way of life. They become victims of their own innocence and allow themselves to fall into the abyss of decadency.
Way to put "God-fearing" United States in the statistics! This country is FARTHEST from godliness! EVERYONE over here claims to be Christian when only about 20% probably are.
Don’t forget, Not Everyone That Calls Themselves Christian, Is Christian!!
Hmmm… Ms. Bug said "They only true difference is we got Christ in us and you don’t…"
I’ve often wondered… is it impolite to ask which bodily orifice he used?
Anyhow… Christ-cult God-bot delusionists have been indoctrinated and bamboozled into ‘believing’ (the ILLUSION of knowledge) that there ‘exists’ some sort of ‘absolute morality’ ‘absolute’ morality that can come only from an invisible, magical, all-powerful, supernatural sky-fairy (god) (that just happens to be imaginary)… and that non-believers… since they do not ‘believe’ that gods exist… do not have access to that ‘morality’, and so they have no way of telling right from wrong.
As a rule, atheists that I have known live far more ethical lives, and behave much more ‘morally’ than most so-called ‘Christians’ that I have known. In other words (behavior-wise), the atheists, in general, are more ‘christian’ than the Christians.
It is very sad (and scary) to realize that there are people incapable of behaving ethically as a matter of self-realization… and need some imaginary supernatural force to ensure your proper behavior, for rear of some kind of eternal supernatural punishment. I dread to think of what their life will be like… and the lives of everyone around… should they come to realize that all of their controlling beliefs are the product of the myths, superstitions, fairy tales and fantastical delusions of an ignorant bunch of Bronze Age fishermen and wandering goat herders.
In typical fashion, professional Christ-cult LFJs™ (Liars For Jesus) have taken credit for what amounts to innate human behavior.
Cooperation and reciprocal altruism are inate properties of human existence… a more sophisticated version of the social organization that you can see among pods of orcas, packs of wolves, lion prides and troops of chimpanzees. Moral consensus, moral conscience and mutual empathy are evolved survival traits. These are social constructs… the social lubrication that allows people to exist together. People come away with the misconception that they don’t exist, absent religion. The religious puppet masters try to perpetuate that idea, in order to protect their conduits to wealth and power… but that is a canard. This has to do entirely with human nature.
People who don’t agree with that should chew on THIS for a little while. Christians make up about 75% of the US population and 75% of the US prison population. No big surprise there.
Atheists, on the other hand, make up about 10% of the US population… but they only make up 0.2% of the US prison population. Now, isn’t THAT a surprise? That means that on a per-capita basis, atheists are FIFTY (50) times LESS LIKELY to be incarcerated than Christians. Pretty strange, huh, for a group that has no god-given guiding moral principals?
I can only think of two possibilities that might reasonably be said to account for this discrepancy:
1. Atheists are of a higher ethical and moral caliber than Christians, and thus are less prone to do the same kinds of nasty things that land so many Christians in the slammer;
OR,
2. Atheists are, overall, a lot smarter than Christians and thus, they are less likely to get caught in the course of their transgressions.
It’s GOT to be one or the other… take your pick.
