Which "Flavor" of Linux is the best?
I really don’t know very much about Linux but I am very anxious to learn about it. In your opinion, which version would be the best for someone who is looking to learn the "in’s & out’s" of Linux (Red Hat, Linspire, Mandrake, etc.)? Which is the most user friendly? I have heard a lot of good things about Linspire. What is your take on this? Thanks in advance for your advice.

Hi,
Well, if you are essentially looking for ease of Use and want to use your first Linux distro, Use Mandriva or Suse. They have free version which are pretty good. But, if you are willing to spend some money, Linspire might be good, though I have not used it personally.
I wouldnt recommend that you BUY any Linux distro, atleast for first time use.
Now, if you are not sure that you want install them, they try their respective Live CDs, where teh OS runs right off the CD without even installing.
Other great distros include Obuntu ( free and will ship you their CDs absolutely free of charge ), Knoppix ( the father /mother of all Live CDs ) and maybe Fedora. ( wouldnt recommend it for Multimedia ).
I’m partial to grape.
Or Red Hat.
I personally like Red Hat Fedora
The support you get from the website is fantastic and you can download a copy for free at thier website, which I have included below.
Linux comes in "distributions" rather than "flavors", however, one of the best is Ubuntu. Check it out here:

There’s also talk of Google developing a version based on Ubuntu too.
