What version of flash player should I download on this linux computer?
I’m on a Linux compter in one of my college’s computer labs, and it’s saying it doesn’t have Flash Player. The computer is 64-bit and running Red Hat distribution. What version of Flash should I get from http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ ? (if you can’t see the Linux options, they are):
YUM for Linux
.tar.gz for Linux
.rpm for Linux
.deb for Ubuntu 8.04+
APT for Ubuntu 9.04+
btw, I’ve had to "zip" a few tarballs for my programming class, so I know how to extract .tar.gz files. would that be the best option?

Probably the .rpm. If not that, try the gzip.
Yum is normally SUSE
RPM is normally Red Hat and Mandriva
DEB is Debian
TAR GZ is a standard format for compressed files in most Linux Distributions
If you click on the file the Linux Achiever should open up and show you the files, then you would use extract to take them out of the achieve to a folder.
Red Hat should have the flash player plugin in their repository files.
Get the tar.gz
Extract the plugin inside the tarball and place it in your browser’s plugin directory.

If you are willing to give it a shot there is a 64-bit flash plugin, but it’s not considered stable yet.
