As in, is there any chance that Microsoft will use this deal to put other Linux distributions out using their legal power?

The companies said Thursday they will collaborate on development of specific technologies, for example to help Microsoft’s Windows, a proprietary operating system, work with Novell’s Suse Linux, which is based on open-source code. On the business side, they will promote each other’s products. So, other Linux distributions may be hurt, but with the open-source code, I think it will benefit in the long run, not all distributions are going to hang tough.
I think MS has concerns that if they do not start working with Linux to some degree, they are the ones that will be hurt in the long run. Knowing MS though, if it were not for all the antitrust stuff, they would reign Linux in.
What deal? Please give more information as I am very interested. (We are currently running a MS/Novell network)
M$’s Steve Balmer is already spouting off about Linux having some of M$’s intellectual property contained with it. Hopefully M$ will take advantage of this time to do something good and gain some trust from the Open Source community.
