What do you think whether AMD (Athlon, Duron, Sempron, etc) or Intel Pentium etc, which one is the best in computer ?
What do you think whether Window, Linux, Apple or other operating system which one do you like ? which one is the best one ?
In Linux which one is the best ( whether Red Hat, Mandrake, Debian, Knopix or etc) ?

I (along with 90% of computer users) prefer Windows (XP Pro to be exact.) I love using Vista, and will be upgrading when it comes out!
Intel’s P4 Chip is my favorite (I only have a 3.6 HT.) (HT is the old designation for dual core.)
AMD’s work well, too, but they have been playing catch up for the last 5 years.
For Linux try Ubuntu (one of the versions that is available FREE!)
ps: For Apple…my favorite is Golden Delicious! …that fruit company (as Forrest described it) is struggling for 3.5% of the Operating System market.

Intel procesors have definetaly made a comback with their dual-core processors and AMD will soon release their quad-cores soon. AMD has good gaming applications but Intel has extremely stable (and now finally) cool processors. So they are both good manufacters of processors.
Linux is by far one of the most stable OS’s avaible. And it’s come a very long way from command-line interfaces. Full GUI-capable inferfaces are always being developed and tested. The Ubuntu and Knoppix remain the most popular distro’s available. Windows, however, still remains leader for gaming applications and support. Apple is good for developing visual art.
Question #1 AMD or Intel : Both processors do the same thing and are compatible with the same programs. AMD is less expensive in general and has very good performance. I have AMD processors in both my Laptop and Desktop. Currently Intel has the fastest processor, the Core 2 Duo. If you have the money to get a machine that has a Core 2 Duo, go Intel. If you are looking for something less expensive, go AMD.
Question #2 Windows, Apple or Linux: If you are a tech savvy person and compatibility is important to you, I would say go with Windows. Windows can be a pain when things get messed up and is EXTREMELY open to Viruses and Spyware, but there is more software out there for Windows than any other OS. (Be Warned; A new version of Windows is due out in January. If would be worth waiting so you do not have to upgrade, and it’s kick a$$!!!)
If you just want a computer that works, out of the box, go with Apple. They are more expensive, but are gorgeous machines. OSX is not natively compatible with Windows Programs, so you’re not going to be able to walk into best buy and have a huge selection of software to choose from. That said, Apple includes basically everything you need out of the box. This also makes Apple a better value, because you don’t need to buy more software. It comes with Tons of Software, including Apple’s ILife Suite for creating Digital Media, etc. THERE ARE HARDLY ANY GAMES FOR OSX. This is the reason that I don’t have an Apple. Apple is working on that and an advanced user could install Windows on a Mac and play games, etc.
Linux is FREE! Ubuntu is the most popular and easy to use Distrobution (They are in general all based on the same core). You can install it along side Windows or Mac OSX. There are distros out there for AMD, INTEL or PowerPC. If you are not an advanced user, I would not suggest going the Linux route. Sounds great, but installation can be painful and although once you have the OS installed, you are using a full GUI, similar to OSX or Windows, you will often find yourself typing in commands into a shell. Linux is a good OS, but I would suggest getting a OSX or Windows machine and then mess around with installing Linux along side one of the other OS’es or just playing around with a Live CD.
I’m an Intel guy, I really love the new Duo processors, definitely worth checking out.
As far as operating systems go, you can have a lot of fun with Linux, but it will not give you great support for things like gaming. Windows of course has its security flaws, but if you are a wise user, you should have very little trouble with such issues as viruses and net-security.
As for the Apple end… you really can’t mess with it on your own. I wish there was a build your own Apple kit, but they would rather prefer you get one made by them.
Shop around different online retailers, they will offer you the best prices.. build it yourself!!
There is no 1 best chip or OS, or distribution of Linux. Just like the many people of the world are different, there are many different needs and preferences they have for their computers. A lot depends on what work you need to do, who you need to be compatible with, and what your preference is for user interface.
intel for sure it is the best i prefer windows myself dont know about linux
I would of told you AMD was the best but thats before Intel release their "Core 2 Duo" processors.
I use windows often because there are a lot of programs I need only would run on windows (Wine doesn’t work for a lot of the programs i need) but I prefer Linux.
I personally like to use Gentoo but I have tried Knoppix, Slackware, Ubuntu and Slax (based off slackware).
intel duo 2 processor is in the lead now. Window is much more user friendly. Apple is too frustrating, only one mouse button. Linux is not as easy to use as windows, but it is cheaper and some are free.
