First and foremost, Linux is open-source and usually free. It’s more secure than any other system, and generally uses system resources better. The support is done by the Linux community at large, and not some mysterious 800 #.
There are over 5000 applications that run on LINUX. This site just shows some of the equivalents to windows programs.
Seriously? Most of the internet Web servers are run using UNIX/Linux.
Just about any application you can think of runs on UNIX/Linux.
