Which brands of wireless cards offer open source drivers for them?

I ASSUME Intel and Atheros do, while the others do not (Broadcom, Realtek, etc). Can anybody confirm this?
I know they don’t need to be open source for them to work, but I’m pretty sure Broadcom is closed source and not only that, they’re very piss poor quality. I’m sure if they were open source, community developers would jump on the code to improve on them. I’m just curious which companies ARE open source because I want to support them by buying their products instead of closed source companies.

as we all know Fedora linux is opensource as a big player to the open source community. and according to that it should be freely available for everyone. just like any distribution available i.e Ubuntu / mint/ Puppy linux/ Debian .. and so on. BUT i found this in teh small print on FEDORa’s download site as well as RED HAT’s

HOW teh hell is that free software now? isnt this violation of teh FREE software movement? you can see this at teh download page when you click on teh EXPORTING REGULATIONS…

opinions? Is that justified? I have friends who live in Iran and Syria. how is this acceptable?

I have been programming in Visual C++, Dev C++ and other windows versions of code. I heard about the open source community and really like Knoppix and devices like Freenas and would like to begin making my transition into compiling and coding from within Linux, using the Gnu compiler stuff where should I begin looking?
