Hey I want to know what kind of training will I need to use open source code from programs like Mame or Final Burn, emulators. If the rumor of the PS3 Hard Drive coming with Linux, I want to make a emulator in which people can play 4-6 player arcade games (with legal roms of course) on a TV through a PS3. I’m currently trying to get back in school to get a degree in Infomation Systems with a consentration in software, cause I want to become a game developer, but I want to start with using open source to see if I have the goods to make a good interface.

I want to install Mandriva linux as a fresh copy or upgrade, i dont want to have to use the cd every time i turn on the computer i want it to be there when i turn it on and want it as my only operating system (OS) FOR EVER!
Im trying to install it on a gateway computer with windows xp but im tire of windows xp and want to try something different
I have the files and everything is just that i dont know how to create the cd, well i created one by burning the iso file but that did not install mandriva on the Hard Drive Disk (HDD)
If you know any good tutorial on how to install Mandriva, plis write the link down there or if you know how to explain it very well or have some how ideas of how to do it plis write them down

I need a free partitioning software to partition a part of my hard drive in FAT32 while the other part is NTFS. Any ideas? How do I switch between two different operating systems?

Is there free program that allows you to run linux as a regular Windows application just as you run MS Word or Safari orAcrobat Reader as windows applications? I tried Wubi but what it forced me to do was partition part of my hard drive. I now have dual boot.
I’m looking for just as an app. Also needs the linux app needs to make use of my wireless connection. Help!

I had a college class with the linux terminal application, and i did most of the homework on my laptop. i had vista premuim on it, hard drive is 160gb. made the 100gb windows, and the 60gb fedora. now i have dual booting as well. now that im done with the class, i want my 60gb back to windows without screwing up my vista. how can i go about doing this safely and efficiently? thank you!

Keep in mind that my laptop has an 18GB hard drive, with 256MB of RAM…So I want something that runs smooth too.
Also, are there any REALLY COOL creative Linux programs out there I could use for stuff like that?
