Speaking hypothetically. If Microsoft and Linux were to develop an OS together, would it kill off MACS?

   MS would charge $10000, and put in random errors, instabilities, resource hogs, and MORE BSODs.

   Windows is already being crushed under it’s own weight. It is a resource hog and unless it’s code is completely changed, Windows is a dying OS.

   Now Linux is just the opposite and the combination of the two may create a better Windows, however, this is never going to happen, as MS does not realize it’s own faults.

   Linux, is by no means, for the weak of heart as it is not the easiest OS to use. I does a lot of the same things that OSX can do, but in different ways. Things that Windows can only dream of doing.

   Now will a combination of Windows and Linux cause the demise of OSX,,,No Way, The Mac platform is superior to anything that is out there right now. It is user friendly, unlike Linux, and actually works, unlike Windows. So the bottom line is no this would not happen. It is actually more likely the Windows would drag Linux into the basement.

   Windows was innovative and good in it’s time, however it can not keep up with the new technology. It’s code makes it useless in today’s world. They are struggling to make it do things that Linux and OSX does with ease.

   In my humble opinion, right now there is nothing better out there for the everyday user than Leopard, or Tiger for that matter. Apple has the right idea, make it simple, and make it work, and they have succeeded. Windows is simply trudging on. Linux is an up and comer.

   Made on a Mac, and I use Ubuntu on my laptop!!!!!!

   If Microsoft ever made a LINUX or a MAC they would wipe out the market creating a monopoly. Microsoft controls 98%-99% of the market, basically, and if they did anything to make MAC or Linux look worse they would be put out of business. My proof? All of the anti-Microsoft MAC commercials. Microsoft does not retaliate and looses no business.

   Microsoft is too big, and too powerful to kill now. MAC almost died before it made the iPod… I bought a Sansa because it’s made by Microsoft. lol

   This debate will never end, because MAC is an evil user friendly virus that will not be stopped. Watch out MAC users, I’m calling you all ZOMBIES!!!!!

   it would be the best of both worlds and probably free it would be stable and look nice if it wasn’t free it would be like $20 and i dont think the would kill off mac because macs are built for performance and most video/photo editors and ppl who just like to make stuff would still by mac’s because there beasts and there will always be a market for mac’s they have quite the loyal fan base as does windows and linux
