network configuration with redhat 9 linux on dell inspiron 700m?

I have a dell inspiron 700m with a recent installation of RedHAT 9.0. I need to configure the lan/ethernet(?) to connect to internet. but it somehow just doesnt detect my network card. and i have absolutely no idea how to go about it. any help would be appreciated
