my computer won't let me install adobe flash player i am using linux?

It keeps giving me the same result a box will pop up saying
open with
save with
and i’ve tried to save it nothing happens well i click on the saved file and a bunch of coding comes out and when i try to open it this comes up
\Could not open "flash-plugin-10.0.22.87-release.i386-1.rpm"
Archive type not supported.
what is an archive type and why is it not supported!??
I am trying to open it with archive manager
HELP!!!

You should say what Linux distro you are running, it would be lot easier. Check out the distro’s name and find a dedicated forum; you will get all assistance you need.
