Microsoft Word do they have a version for Linux/Ubuntu?

Or do they have anything close to word. It would also be nice if they had things like Power Points and stuff.

It’s called Open Office Writer. If O-O is not already installed you can go into Synaptic to find and install it. You’ll need your root password.
Writer will open .doc files from Word. Just make sure you save documents written in Writer in the .doc format and you’ll be able to open them with Word just fine. No need to "run MS Office in Wine".
In Open Office there is a program that is called Impress. It is the O-O equivelant to PowerPoint.

Nope, but Openoffice.org works on Linux, or you can run MS Office in WINE.
