microsoft employees using unix/linux?

im curious, suppose there was a person or more that one person using unix/linux instead of windows who was working for microsoft. would bill gates immediately have them sacked and hung?

Microsoft has been getting quite involved with open source computing for some time now. A lot of their work focuses specifically on Linux. I’m sure it would be rather difficult for them to even begin to develop open source technology without some knowledge of these other systems.

I seriously doubt it.
They need to for competitive analysis.
The group that develops and supports Services For Unix (SFU) probably uses it extensively to test compatibility.
Likewise, many groups need to be able to test interoperability with the rest of the Internet, which is largely *NIX-based in the server segment.
