Linux versus Microsoft?
Is it really possible to have a ‘truly unbiased’ benchmark test for Linux and Windows? Both camps seem to run tests aimed to show off their own systems. Users – from both camps – are just as unreliable! This one (from the Linux side) seems to be one of the best I have seen http://www.tuxradar.com/content/benchmarked-ubuntu-vs-vista-vs-windows-7 – I would also like to see server performance tests, and even various Linux distribution ones ……

You’ll never get a solid answer on this one, both have their respective rabid fans. I use Vista SP2 almost exclusively as well as Ubuntu 9.04, but there’s always something stopping me from going over to the Ubuntu side completely. Most Linux users would just flat out call me an idiot, saying that I am too dumb to use it, but that just isn’t true. Am I comfortable with Windows? Yes I am, but that doesn’t stop me from trying new things. I wasn’t born knowing how to use Windows either. In my opinion, Ubuntu is years behind Windows, as far as being widely acceptable. Even "they" admit it. It’s still a great OS, don’t get me wrong. I’m just not ready to hole-up in the basement wearing a T-shirt with Calvin from Calvin and Hobbes taking a leak on the Windows logo just yet.
I’ll be expecting a few thumbs-down for this, so have at it Linux folks!
Apples and oranges. I make my living with adobe apps and they only run on windows.
