Is this Mandrake or Ginger root?

I can’t tell, here is a photo of what I have, Thanks.
It’s wet, even though I haven’t put it in the fridge and it’s been out for 2 hours.

it looks like fresh ginger to me
if its still wet, it is possible that its slimy, as in going bad?
if you scratch the skin does it smell gingery?
don’t forget, there are many varieties of ornamental ginger that appear very similar to edible ginger
hmmm that looks like a ginger root to me is it wet? cus ginger root usually looks dry
this looks like ginger. jerusulum artichokes also look simular. i suppose you get it in a grocery store? they don’t sell mandrake there.
