is there an emulator that will run linux as a windows app?
Is there free program that allows you to run linux as a regular Windows application just as you run MS Word or Safari orAcrobat Reader as windows applications? I tried Wubi but what it forced me to do was partition part of my hard drive. I now have dual boot.
I’m looking for just as an app. Also needs the linux app needs to make use of my wireless connection. Help!

You will need a virtual machine for this, I recommend VirtualBox http://www.virtualbox.org/ it is straightforward to set up and use and is very versatile. I use it for trying out countless Linux distros.

Microsoft Virtual Machine
VMWare
Virtual Box
You have to allocate some space for installation, but there is no dual boot, and no partions. Its all run inside Windows
