Is it POSSIBLE to bundle browser, openoffice etc applications into Linux kernel?

Exactly what would they do in the kernel? Are you suggesting placing applications in system space rather than userspace?

considering everything is under the GPL, you can bundle anything there with anything.
However, I don’t think it would do anything since you would just have a kernel, and no OS to run the programs
Theoretically yes. But that would make less sense
than washing your car half way through a dirt track.
I think it is a good idea to bundle important applications in kernel, if possible.
This will insulate OEMs and PC manufacturers from software vendor lock in.
