The Fedora Project is the community version of the Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) project. Red Hat (the company) likes to test out new programs and changes in the Fedora Project first before including them in RHEL for their business users. This means both RHEL and Fedora use the same RPM packages and are 100% binary compatible with each other. The only difference between the two OSs is that Fedora tends to be more cutting edge while RHEL is 100% stable and fully backed by Red Hat’s help desk support (though you can get help with Fedora through the community forums).
Ubuntu is the Debian based Linux distribution (though Ubuntu is not backed by the Debian Foundation the same way that Fedora is backed by the Red Hat corporation).
Fedora is an RPM-based, general purpose operating system built on top of the Linux kernel, developed by the community-supported Fedora Project and sponsored by Red Hat
