Would you use Enterprise Grade Linux to run your mission-critical applications over proprietary software? Are you willing to pay for support for linux?

there is no logical reason to there is tons of good free stuff out there
Yes very much so and Red Hat is already being used widely http://www.redhat.com/
LUG.
It is totally pointless using enterprise unless your business is so large that you are dependent on hiring IT support personnel. For anyone who knows what they are doing you have all you need inbuilt on the sensible free distributions like Suse. Even the Ubuntu distributions with all there simplicity can manage a whole company network.
Your cost per unit and per person set aside… How will your company function during the transition? Will you still have customers? Linux gurus charge a lot to support this due to no part of the team will know how to do there jobs.
Keep the linux away from the end users and the desktops
