The Ps3 has extreme processing power and my computer is just lame. I want to use my PS3 processing power and create a super computer or something: which Linux Distro would support this, and will it cost a lot of money?

Question 1 – Can I run Linux on a PS3 – Answer yes – see the link below to Wikipidia
Can I make a cluster? again yes, since it is the Linux kernel that supports clustering, all distros can be adapted. Some, such as OpenSuse and Fedora have more tools than Unbuntu, because they are derived from business applications, but all will work.
A Gb switch will help your cluster a great deal, but is no a "must" to get it running.
Once you have created the cluster, you will need to operate a virtual machine running on top of the cluster, You apps and OS of choice will run there.
All software is available in open source, so except for hardware, the costs should be minimal
I have put some links below to sites that provide information on clustering. those are just a few. Google Linux Home Cluster for more links
Good Luck and happy computing
You really havent a clue what you are asking, even if you did managed to create a cluster, what are you going to do with it ? you sure cant play games on it, nor most everyday applications, or are you thinking of writing your own climate research software ?
dude, your going to have to buy a better computer, the way the ps3 is set up no software you find for linux or what ever will not work but cool idea and good luck
