I want to use linux on my microsoft virtual pc ?

when configuring it askme for te system should I choose MS2 ,OS/2 or other and how do I install it to the virtual pc only!?

Change the ram to whatever you like but i recommend half of whatever ram you have in your pc. Create a New virtual disk.
Now you should see you virtual machine in the list. Click on it and press the SETTINGS button.
Click on hard disk 1 and click the Virtual disk wizard. Select to Create a new virtual disk, and then a virtual hard disk. Save it where ever you like or over the virtual disk you created in the first step. Now select to create a Fixed disk (this is the easiest way to get Linux to work). Make it as big as you need it, 10240MB should be enough for a large distro or 4096MB for something small like Ubuntu, it’s really up to you and what you want to do with it. Click Ok and wait as the virtual disk is created. Close and then OK
You should be back at the console. Start your Linux Console. Click CD and select USE Physical drive X (substitute X with the letter of the drive where your Linux cd/dvd is located). Action and then select Reset. You should see it boot with the boot menu of your Linux install disk. The rest is up to you.
The virtual hard drive acts like a normal hard disk in MSVM. A big file is created where all the files are stored. When you install Linux everything goes there. The software thinks it’s running on a real computer. if you don’t like what you have done you can delete your virtual hard disk and start all over again. It has no affect on you windows installation.
I have had trouble getting Ubuntu 6.06 (most likely my disk) to run from MSVM, but 5.10 worked fine after some fiddling.
