Can anyone recommend a lightweight Linux OS that works with a 3 Huwei E220 dongle? The laptop is a v.old 400Mhz Celeron with 128Mb RAM, but is only needed for surfing. Thanks

Any should work, start with Ubuntu if you are new to Linux, it is supposed to be natively supported by the kernel. In my sources I included a link, if it doesn’t work still just google e220 Linux
it works with most linux distros but you will need to find one that runs on those specs – which is probably most to varying degrees
On the list shown I would go for debian or slax (popcorn) but any you choose should not run kde or even gnome. You will get away with those but I would go for xfce or lxde (these are the desktop environments which pretty much don’t make a difference as you’ll be ‘in’ the browser mostly)
