I found an open source OS for Linux, but no idea about Open source…?

So, if I were to download and install, could I use it without any modification? Since I’m such a computer Luddite. (as in just download and install, like any other program)

I don’t really understand what you are asking, You found an Open source OS? and you want to install it like any other program? a program and a OS are not the same, so what is your question?
open source means that the source code is free to use
To install an OS you burn the disk image you download from the site to a cd, put the cd in your computer and restart your computer. You will be taken through the OS’s installer. This WILL erase your old OS and all the files on your computer.
And you want have to modify it. Open Source just means that it doesn’t cost money and the developers are volunteering to do the work instead of being paid for it (and that you can get the source code if you want).
