I am using linux based Debian as my OS when I use the package installer I can't find the programs.?

I tried to search for them in the files and also the pulldown menu but I can’t find them if someone who uses the same OS can help I would appreciate it a lot. thanks!

not familiar with Debian, even tho’ my Linux is a debian distro. Invariably, after installation of a package you can open a Terminal and type the name and return. eg. lilypond
the menus and such just give you a desktop shortcut for the same thing.
let me give you a link about a ubuntu howto… remember ubuntu is based on debian. pay attention to Debian Menus and I give you a caveat about that program. You might have to refresh the menus to get Debian Menus to work (but it does show every program on your machine)
2nd link is debian forums on ubuntu forums. they’re a great bunch of experts from all over the world. I’ve seen Q&A for Redhat / Fedora and just about any linux you can think of.
