This is not really an ultimate answer to your question, however I hope it might save you some trouble.
Radius can get complex depending on the application it is used for. I would suggest compiling FreeRADIUS, or the like, from source with included sample configuration files so that you may become very aware and educated – experienced with this service application.
I can’t say for sure, but a first time Radius install with an RPM for Redhat may be overwhelmingly complex for some.
Most importantly, take your time.
