How to make sound work on Mandriva Linux?
ok, so i installed linux recently and completely removed windows. Everything seems to just work perfectly except for the sound? I have tried choosing any of the drivers that may work with it. I’ve also tried all the master channels. it still doesnt work!! i really dont wanna download a driver from the internet cause that would be a pain in the but. does anyone know what is wrong?
my sound card is:
82801FB/FBM/FR/FW/FRW (ICH6 Family) High Definition Audio Controller (which is built in my computer)
and ive tried:
SB Live! EMU10k1 (which i attached to my computer)
and neither of them work! when i had windows on my computer with linux it worked fine!! pleaase if there is any linux experts help me!
oh and heres some extra info if it helps at all:
KDE version: 3.5.7
Release: 2.6.22.19-desktop586-2mdv
Machine: i686
