How to install Debian Linux?

My computer is saying that my CD is not the proper CD for Debian installation (this is after booting with a floppy). Obviously this CD that I burnt myself that supposedly has all the installation files needed, the debian boot doesn’t recognize it properly. I was wondering if someone could show me what a debian root cd should look like. (what folders are in it, what files, etc)
Great, I’m getting somewhere. Now another thing is, what image to i use to convert it to a bootable cd?

you just burn the image to the disk, not the files. try to look for your linux’s ISO files. then, using nero cd image burner, select burn image to disk.
Did you make the CD a bootable CD? This isn’t the default for most CD burner software, so go back and check if you did this and if not, reburn and turn that feature on.
You may need to download the etch net install image. This will allow you to download portions of debian from servers. Once your system is set up, then you can burn a cd set if you want.
I use debian as both a host and a guest.
What architecture do you have?
Make sure that you burnt the ISO image as an image to the CD, and not just copy the single ISO file! You don’t need a boot floppy either – the CD is bootable.
