I installed proftpd on Debian 5.0 and when I go on filezilla on other computer it connects but I don’t know the username and password. How can I change or see my ftp pass?

You need to set the configuration file for proftpd to allow th appropriate type of access and passwords, the create the passwords. Far better to use the standard vsftpd, far more secure and easier to configure.
