RedHat you say? I think thats a bad idea. I was suggest you get Fedora Croe 7 (basiclly newer version of rh), and I’d recomend you stay away from the RedHat Eneterprise Linux anyway.
Deleting a partiton will delete all the data you have on that partition. So you dont want to delete the wrong one. But if you want to do it, almost every Linux distro offers some sort of partitioning tool with the installation CD. Just follow the steps, I guess and make sure you dont delete the Windows partition or any other partition where you have useful data.
If you just want to try Linux out, without partitioning your harddrive up and doing all sorts of other things. Try a LiveCD distribution, Gentoo or Knoppix.
Have fun
Use your windows XP installation CD to enter the installation prompt and delete one of the partitions.
Restart and use your RedHat CD to install Linux.
(Never used RedHat, so that’s as far as I can take you. – Hopefully it’s as user-friendly as Ubuntu.)
