How do I reinstall Windows OS to replace Linux Ubuntu?

Linux Ubuntu was installed over a Windows OS on a computer – I thought I was installing Ubuntu ALONGSIDE Windows. I want to replace the Linux with the original Windows.

Do you have the Windows CDs. If yes boot the computer up with the CD, have it delete the current partitions and then format NTSF, when it finishes it will install Windows. If you don’t have the CD you will need to get one. If you run Ubuntu and use the partition program gparted, see if there is an NTSF partition on the far right hand side. If it exist and says NTSF, then the Factory Default Recovery partition still exist and you might be able to recover it back to the way it was bought. Sorry to hear that you accidentally did the whole hard drive.
Just put in your windows cd and install.
If installation process shows 2 partitions- instead of ‘enter’ selet ‘d’ for delete- do that for all partitions- then format disk-then install..

Call Tech support for the computer company that makes the computer you use, and ask for a recovery disk.
I’ve Had to do this before, and i recommend if they ask what operating system you bought it with, get the newest one possible, (i got windows 7, for free on my netbook after dabbling in ubuntu netbook edition)
or i can send you full disk image if you want, i got an install Disk at the house, all you have to do is activate it over the phone with microsoft after you burn the CD
Download the Windows drivers for all your hardware as you still have ubuntu installed and burn them off to a disc or put them on a flash drive or external hard drive (back up your personal data as well)
Secondly, boot into ur windows disc, follow the instructions, put in ur serials and wait.
When its done, install the drivers you downloaded.
Follow up by installing your applications and ur done!
If you still want to play with ubuntu, stick the ubuntu disc in and "install inside windows" You will get full functionality, while ubuntu will be on the hdd and can be removed from the "add or remove programs" section of the windows control panel and will not affect windows at all.
