How do I download Flash player to Linux?
I just now got linux; therefore, I need to download a few things. I need to download flash player, so I can watch videos on Youtube. However, when I download it, it tells me:
"Could not open "flash-plugin-10.0.32.18-release.i386.rpm"
Archive type not supported."
Okay. Then how do I do this? Will I get this message every time I try to download a program to Linux?
Yes, I did try to download one of the many Linux versions of Flash. I know it’s not my computer because my dad’s computer done the same thing that mine is doing.
This is a new computer with Windows 7 Ultimate beta version and Vista. I am just playing with Linux for fun.
I got it to work. I already know who’s going to get the best answer. Thanks. I just needed that little piece of info.

Extract tar.gz and open folder
right click on flashplayer-installer

LUg.
i over all would recomend buying a Windows XP (or newer verson of Windows) instead, but it’d be a waste because you bought the Linux, so… have you tried using the link youtube tells you to download from? because that’s what i do on windows xp and i make sure it’s the right OS
You should almost never download anything for a Linux machine. Everything you need is in the software package repository. You probably have a debian-based system, like Ubuntu, which uses the .deb packages instead of the Red-Hat based .rpm. Open up Synaptic (or whatever manager you have) and search for flash. In Ubuntu, the program you need is called flashplugin-nonfree
first, you go to google and type in there free download adobe flash player and choose from adobe official website…..and click download…
