Hussain my man! No wonder you keep coming back for more punishment. It just hasn’t clicked has it?!?!?!? You don’t put Tata parts in a Porche, and you don’t run Windoze apps under DSL. DSL is there for those with hardware limitations, that can’t run NORMAL Linux. You have been grousing about not being able to run Windoze on your machine. Why in the "explitive deleted" do you expect to run Windoze apps under DSL?
Try Win 98. Naw, you are about Win 95 era. Hunt around, someone can help you.
There is a way to install SOME windoze apps – it is called WINE. Not Whine, which is no doubt what you are going to be doing from here on out. But you are probably not going to run Wine under DSL, regardless how much you whine.
Add some memory, add another harddisk, and install Windoze XYZ. You are NOT a good candidate for ANY flavour of Linux. And don’t complain about Linux – you are limiting its options, and expecting more than the distros you want (DSL) are set up to deliver. Operator Error, operator error, OPERATOR ERROR!
i think there is a program called WINE (Wine Is Not an Emulator) or something like that. i have only heard of it, i havn’t used it as i am running windows XP. google for that, you might be suprised
Yes, Windows programs can run under Linux using Wine. But Damn Small Linux is too old for it. And if surfing the internet, checking your e-mail, typing documents, chatting, or listening to music on your old-ass computer is useless to you, that’s fine. Go back to using Windows 95. We don’t need you.
then ya need to go back to windows wine is the about only option and its not very good at that.
there is somthing you need to Know linux is not windows and DSL is not the best choice to start out with how many times do we have to tell ya. I am glad you decided to try linux but ya gotta come with an open mind. go back to windows and get you some nice viruses like the rest of the windows idiots.
wine is popular but doesn’t support all programs, Crossover from CodeWeavers is popular and has better support for running windows programs under linux but may need to be purchased, it is based on wine with proprietary parts.
if you really need to run windows apps on linux run windows on linux in a virtual machine such as vmware this method is called virtualization
