im having a hardtime having yahoo messenger using linux os is it possible to have it?

You can run Yahoo through Pidgin but you need to change the server to cn.scs.msg.yahoo.com otherwise you won’t connect.

The program will not work properly even if you use wine. That’s my experience with it.
There are three different Chat Instant Messenger programs for Linux. Pidgin is one of them. Gychi is another that is multi usable with different Chat programs. There are others based on what Desktop Windows Environment you are running, i.e. Gnome, KDE, XFCE and the others. There is also about six Web Browsers you can install and about three IRC programs. All free to use of course.
You can chat with your yahoo buddies using pidgin. But if you want audio/video chat you will have to use GYachI http://gyachi.sourceforge.net/
The windows version cannot be installed in linux.
