How can I activate my graphics card driver in my Linux Mint Debian Edition?

I just installed Linux Mint Debian Edition(LMDE). Unlike the Ubuntu based Mint, This one can’t automatically detect the graphics card and doesn’t show the notification in the tray, so I can’t use animations and Compiz effects.
Any help?

For Nvidia GeForce Cards (6200 upwards)
Open a Terminal and submit the following command (copy and paste)
sudo apt-get install libgl1-mesa-dri-experimental
Close the Terminal and REBOOT
LUg.
I can only guess you would need to go into the software management program and see what kind of drivers it has. Debain Repositories are not rich in files like Ubuntu or other distributions. They keep and maintian their distribution to be a standard distribution only. You may need to use the testing or unstable repositories to find the driver you may need. I can’t be very much help with Debian.
It should be under a menu item called Hardware Drivers (or something similar).
Good luck
Actually Debian does detect your graphics card. I assume your talking about the automatic proprietary driver install thing Ubuntu comes with. Remember Ubuntu holds you hand and crosses the street with you….Debian assumes you know what your doing (like most non-Ubuntu based distros).
Install Proprietary ATI Driver

Install Proprietart NVIDIA Driver

Don’t let the big pages fool you, It’s not a hard install.
