I’m thinking of buying Linux XP but I don’t know if it works as good as Microsoft XP. It’s definitly cheaper than Microsoft and you don’t need certificates to load it on other pcs. Can someone PLEASE tell me how it works?

Most distros that try to be windows fail.
Go with something based on Debian or Redhat.
yes! we at our office are working at linux. One big advantage with linux is that it is not affected by virus like windows. It has better compression capability. On the flip side i do not find it as user freindly as windows is. So make your descision. It is advisable that you have both the os on your computer, as many leading softwares still do not run on linux
I guess you mean http://www.linux-online.ru/desktop/ right ?
IF you are new to this and want TO BUY (not necessary because most distributions can be downloaded legally for free from the vendor site) a distribution for desktop
I suggest you look at SUSE

or Mandriva
