Viruses are usually written to affect Windows systems. they normally fail when running in other operating systems. It is possible but since there are not that many Linux sites, there is little chance there will be something in the future. The security measures on UNIX and LINUX are far better than Windows could ever hope to be.
That said, html viruses could cause a problem at times.
NO Linux is not windows. There are no virus on LINUX.
Linux is not immune to viruses, but it’s not nearly as popular as Windows so it’s not a big target. The Linux security model reduces the potential damage of a virus, though it could still remove all your files. Linux is often used by more savvy individuals, so they’re not as likely to have their machines infected.
