I have been looking on the Debian torrent download page and it has an option to download the CD or DVD versions. What is the difference between them?

if you want a new operating system try sun solaris realy nice look and you can doubleboot it along side windows just check to see if you have enough ram for it
Nothing – as you’d see if you looked at http://www.debian.org/CD/http-ftp/#stable
Why download it by torrent when a direct download is available?
If you are planning on using Debian and not windows, just download the Debian Net Installer and burn it to a CD. When it boots up it will install the full version of Debian to the hard drive from the internet. I haven’t tried net installer for dual boot.
Cd is limited for space available for the Debain system operating files, where a DVD is complete will all the files. Same programs, just the amount of stuff on the disks.
The dvd version has additional programs that you might want. The cd version has everything you need for an install. If you want additional programs you can download them and they would be the latest version, but the dvd version of programs may be older.
Good luck
