For my computer to be connected to the WIFI I have to use a wireless LAN cardbus. Lately I have been wanting to buy one but I am using ubuntu 9.04 which uses debian files and I am afraid if I buy the package it will not work with the operating system. Does anyone know anything about this?
Thanks

If you are talking about the one in the first link the manufacturer says it works in linux and has a driver.
The second link discusses this item and he says it works out of the box in ubuntu 8.04.
The critical point in selecting a wifi card is the chipset that it uses, and unfortunately some manufacturers will use different chipset for the same model over time.
Since you are asking about a pcmcia card I assume that is the type of card you need not pci nor usb. THe third link list some linksys cards that work in ubuntu.
The last link is a list of wireless cards that work with ubuntu.
Unfortunately it is pretty confusing trying to get a wireless card that will work with ubuntu..
I would suggest that if possible you go to a store to buy the card. Inspect the package closely to see if it says it will work with linux. Also be sure that the store will give you a refund if the card does not work.
If you are going to buy the card online I would suggest the same procedure; read all the info about the product before buying, be sure the online store will give you a refund.
Good luck
