I’m not too sure how to answer a question like this other then: Sure!
I am a Great lover of Linuxmint but I never stick with one distribution I am always on the lookout for better things Mint, and Sabayon to me are the best derivatives of Debian
This week I downloaded a none derivative one that does not follow the pack, this is one from the university of Turkey and boy is it fast, This is a KDE 4 offering, worth a try if your used to Linux, nice install, it does not come with compiz so if you want all the 3D desktops then your going to have to set it up the way you like your Linux desktop, and the network you have to setup yourself but that is easy to do

it is a based ubuntu.
Linux Mint is excellent
Wow- figured this would attract a crowd…
Yes. Based on sheer numbers, and ease for noobs wanting to sip the Linux Kool-aid at last. Ubuntu has made a bigger marketing splash than the enterprise editions of other offerings. Most noobs assume Ubu IS Linux. I know it chafes the guys who would rather assemble their own packages of obscure distros, but there it is. Point and click. Works for me!
