Linux reviews applications open source from SUSE Mandrake Mandriva Centos Redhat Debian and more
yes,
there are 2 versions, but you should only have one enabled as they may conflict
flashplayer-plugin – is the totally free version, this is shipped with most versions of linux
flash-player-plugin – is still free, but contains non-free licensing and is available from adobe
if you have the totally free version enabled then some sites falsely report that there is no flash player on your machine – this is to get you to download the non-free licensed version,
adobe can track what you do with the non-free version,
i use the totally free version as i believe in privacy, but thats just my choice
(windows users do not have the 2 options, they are stuck with the non-free version)
as always with linux – the choice is yours
(as a note – ubuntu came from debian, without debian there would be no ubuntu)
source – mandriva linux user for over 5 years
Yes you can, infact generally flash releases their linux versions earlier than their windows versions, so it usually works better. If you’re looking for a good linux operating system to use, I suggest Ubuntu. Ubuntu is totally free, very stable, very easy to use, and well designed.
