I’ve never had any success getting CS5 to run in WINE. However, you can set up a virtual machine with Windows XP to run it quite smoothly. I have it running well in Oracle’s VirtualBox with Windows XP on a netbook that only has 2GB of RAM (1GB of that is dedicated to running the virtual machine).
Outside of that the most success I have had with any of the CS versions working in WINE has been CS2, although supposedly you can get CS4 to work via PlayOnLinux (which also has not been successful on my part). To get CS2 to work I just installed all the Windows DLLs and fonts using WineTricks, then installed CS2.
WINE, VirtualBox, PlayOnLinux, and WineTricks should all be available through Mint’s Synaptic Package Manager. Feel free to message me if you need any extra help.
Adobe Photoshop CS5 should run on Linux Mint 11 (read the Wine AppDB notes below)
