what is mandrake?
Two answers: Yes, and Why would you want to?
Yes, you can install the Red Hat version of Yahoo Messenger on a Mandrake system. They both use the same .RPM file format. I have installed it on Mandrake 10 before, and it works just fine. Just use urpmi to install it.
Second answer, why would you want to when there are other Yahoo-compatible Instant Messengers you can use like Gaim and Kopete? They can handle more IM service providers (AOL, MSN, ICQ et al), they have more features, are more up-to-date, and are more tightly integrated into Linux than the Linux version of Messenger.
Yahoo Messengerwill install just fine on a Mandrake system. But unless you have a specific need, I’d suggest you look into Gaim or Kopete or others for a native Linux solution.
