So I downloaded the Screenlets Application via the package manger thinking that they would be useful and such. Now they’re really annoying. Basically (no matter what I do) the widgets overlap my applications – like Firefox and Open Office. I’ve tried editing the options in Screenlets (like unchecking Keep Above and checking Keep Below) but nothing seems to work.

So, does anyone know how I can keep my Screenlet widgets going but without them overlapping my Programs? Thanks.

I know there are may OS from Linux and would like to see them all and compare. How do I find this info.. I keep getting refurd to Ubuntu and I already have that one. I want to learn more of what open source has to offer. Thanks

I am a Linux newbi, and am using Debian sarge as my distro! I also use BSNL Data One Broadband connection with Smart AX MT882 adsl modem. I had tried 2 install/compile the relevant drivers 4 the modem in linux 4m the supplied CD , but 2 no avail!! How can I connect to the internet 4m linux?? plz be kind enough to give fairly detailed description!!!

I really want to try Ubuntu Linux but I’m scared that if I switch to Ubuntu and use OpenOffice, I will have a hard time viewing the files I did using a computer running on Windows. Help!

I need to burn an ISO image in Kubuntu, and I downloaded Nero. It looks like a brown box and it has RPM written on it. It’s sitting in the desktop and when I click on it it asks me what I want to open it with. What? I just want to open Nero and burn the ISO file to a CD. What do I do?

I had a college class with the linux terminal application, and i did most of the homework on my laptop. i had vista premuim on it, hard drive is 160gb. made the 100gb windows, and the 60gb fedora. now i have dual booting as well. now that im done with the class, i want my 60gb back to windows without screwing up my vista. how can i go about doing this safely and efficiently? thank you!

I am currently running vista basic, has anyone install linux on a system like mine. Any problems?

I tried: rpm -Uvh wireless-tools-28-1.ppc64.rpm
Again i need to add the desktops path into this install line.
Right now it keeps saying no such file or dir.
If i use the installer it says already installed, i need to force this install.
