i wish to download a debian image on a "faster" computer and set debian boot cd up on a deferent computer when i down load the powerpc from this link will it download linux to the "faster" computeR????

I tried to install mandriva linux on my pc, and it doesn’t finish starting up. and it freezes. But when i install it on my old pc it works fine. then i thought it might be the processors. my new pc is a amd, and my old pc is intel. is there a mandriva one linux for amd processors?

I include two programs to be "included at start up" but now I don’t want them to run then.

Actually the softwares in our compnay (like Accounting System) are written in C# for windows plateform, now there is a plan by management to migrate from windows enviroment to linux, therefore we need to run these software on linux, now how can we migrate all our windows based softwares to linux, source code for these software is available. And also SQL Server 2000 is running at backend also suggest the alternative for database interactivity.

I have this assignment on school to find out how many who uses Microsoft Windows rather than Linux or Mac OS X, do anyone have any kind of information on that? Is there a page were i can find this details of this, a table perhaps that shows how many whom uses that instead off that?

I now need to run Linux in a computer with windows xp, altough i not yet install the Linux system, but i was afraid that these two system will crash if booting at the same time, so anyone has a way to solve this problem? It’s better that let me choose which OS to boot after computer starting up….
