I’m trying to find a sight for downloading music. A list of musts
1 Must be legal (I do not mind paying for what I get)
2 Can’t be monopolized buy only using MS Windows based software (Like Yahoo who by the way runs FreeBSD a lot)
3 Have song from 1970-2006 (Not just today’s songs)
It would be great if it was just a web based pay and down load. For the life of me I can not understand why every sight requires you to download and install there software. This could me written in java, flash or in plane HTML.
I have been having nothing but problems with my Windows Vista (and really, all previous versions), and can’t really afford a Mac. Someone told me about Linux, and I was wondering about more info on it? Does it fully replace an OS like Windows? Or more or less act as a supplement? How does it affect compatibility?
Thanks!
If you have ever checked out http://groklaw.net then you may know quite a bit about this case. It seems so frivilous (in the legal sense) on the part of SCO, and revelations are piling on top of each other to reinforce that impression. Microsoft is propping up SCO financially (at least through ‘license fees’). Will Microsoft face DoJ heat by the time this fiaSCO is through? Is SCO performing a FUD-puppet function for Microsoft?
Billions in damages – really?
Sorry coragryph. Your answer is bogus, give me a break. The code for SCO Unix is proprietary, and unless you’ve signed a nondisclosure agreement, you’ve not seen it to compare with Linux. Neither has anyone else in this world (who is free to comment).
I’m looking for informed input. Anyone?
I’ve been using Windows for years. I hear very positive opinions about Linux and I would really like to try Linux at home. Which distribution of Linux do you think I should get? I saw some videos of Suse and loved it.
Also, will my Windows games and applications work on Linux?

I already have windows os but want to download linux (ubuntu) also. They said that i need to partition my disk or free up some disk space. I dont know how to go with it. Please help me out.
It say that the flash is installed but when I try to play videos on youtube, It says that the java script is turned off or get the latest flash palyer. I was able to watch video before on my Linux machine, but when my sister used it, after that i could not view flash.
I am running Fedora Core 1 on my laptop and would like to use my Microsoft mn-720 adapter to access the internet, but don’t know where to find drivers for it.
as we all know Fedora linux is opensource as a big player to the open source community. and according to that it should be freely available for everyone. just like any distribution available i.e Ubuntu / mint/ Puppy linux/ Debian .. and so on. BUT i found this in teh small print on FEDORa’s download site as well as RED HAT’s

HOW teh hell is that free software now? isnt this violation of teh FREE software movement? you can see this at teh download page when you click on teh EXPORTING REGULATIONS…
opinions? Is that justified? I have friends who live in Iran and Syria. how is this acceptable?
Genesis 30:16
When Jacob came in from the field in the evening, then Leah went out to meet him and said, "You must come in to me, for I have surely hired you with my son’s mandrakes." So he lay with her that night.
Song of Solomon 7:13
"The mandrakes have given forth fragrance; And over our doors are all choice fruits,Both new and old,Which I have saved up for you, my beloved.
If there were a Linux distro. that could run all Windows applications how hard would it hit Microsoft?

On rebooting its asking something like Localhost- Userid: and password.
If i enter the user name and password, its taking me to shell promt with that user name.

I just installed SUSE Linux 10.1 and have been unable to figure out how to install 3rd party software such as Yahoo Messenger or Google Earth.
I have the newest Ubuntu release.

Trying to figure out if you can host a Linux OS on a Cisco Router. Cisco config’s usually doesn’t take up that much space in memory and I’m trying to find out if anyone has tried to place a small version on the Linux Operation System on a Cisco Router. If so, were you successful? How can this be done? Thanks so much
